Football Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Wando Warriors

The James Island Trojans will host the Wando Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (James Island has three straight wins, Wando has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

James Island's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They breezed past Stall to the tune of 55-0. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Warriors are ranked 181st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Connor Dantzler produced another solid effort throwing for 193 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Raphael Puiu also helped with two scores in total.

Meanwhile, Wando lost to Lucy Beckham on the road by a 31-14 margin on Thursday. The Warriors were down 31-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

James Island's record now sits at 9-1. As for Wando, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

James Island took their victory against Wando when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 24-2 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
