Softball Recap: Belleville West Victorious

Belleville West took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Columbia, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Belleville West had just enough and edged out Columbia 13-12. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Belleville West let Ella Weaver and Charli Coppernoll run wild. Weaver went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Coppernoll scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Geluck, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Belleville West's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
