Softball Recap: Harford Tech Extends Winning Streak to Four

Harford Tech hadn't done well against North Harford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cobras walked away with a 9-5 win over the Hawks. The victory was familiar territory for the Cobras, who have now won four contests in a row.

Alexandria Kurth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lyric Strong, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Wall, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harford Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Harford Tech's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for North Harford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Harford Tech will have a chance to go back-to-back against North Harford: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
