Softball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Walden Grove Red Wolves

The Flowing Wells Caballeros will square off against the Walden Grove Red Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Flowing Wells is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Winslow 13-3 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Caballeros needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Flowing Wells got a massive performance out of Ava Scholer, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Scholer a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Yesenia Solano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Flowing Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Walden Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cactus Shadows 6-5.

Walden Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Flowing Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Everything went Flowing Wells' way against Walden Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, as Flowing Wells made off with a 15-4 win. Does Flowing Wells have another victory up their sleeve, or will Walden Grove turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
