Recap: Rivers of Life Christian Eagles vs. Crosspoint Christian
The Rivers of Life Christian Eagles's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past Crosspoint Christian 39-18. Rivers of Life Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Rivers of Life Christian to victory were Hailey Henrichs and Ali Thompson. Henrichs scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Thompson dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Henrichs has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Camren, who scored three points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Crosspoint Christian still got an impressive performance from Bekah Petry, who dropped a double-double on 12 rebounds and ten steals. Petry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Ivana Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Crosspoint Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This was only their tenth loss (out of ten games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Rivers of Life Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Crosspoint Christian, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.
Rivers of Life Christian will take on The Fulton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fulton and Rivers of Life Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Crosspoint Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Providence Classical Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Providence Classical Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
