Basketball Recap: Forestview Takes a Loss

Forestview managed to keep up with Ashbrook until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Forestview Jaguars took a blow against the Ashbrook Greenwave, falling 85-56. The Jaguars have struggled against the Greenwave recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Forestview lost, don't look at Alex Helton. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 18 on his way to 22 points. Quinton Rybczyk was another key player, putting up 12 points and six assists.

Ashbrook got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Issac Byers Jr. out in front who went 7 of 13 en route to 19 points and four steals. Byers Jr. is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayron Jackson, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Forestview now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Ashbrook, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Forestview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-61 defeat against Kings Mountain on the 17th. As for Ashbrook, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-40 victory against North Gaston on the 17th.
