Newton South came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the St. John's Prep Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 9th.

Newton South now has a winning record of 9-8. As for St. John's Prep, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Newton South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Brookline on the 3rd. St. John's Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
