Soccer Recap: North Stanly Comes Up Short

North Stanly managed to keep up with Gray Stone Day until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Comets lost 4-1 to the Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Gray Stone Day this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in March.

North Stanly's goal came courtesy of Brynnley Goode, which was the first she's scored this season.

North Stanly is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11-1. As for Gray Stone Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Stanly will face off against rival South Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Gray Stone Day is set to take on their familiar foe Union Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Gray Stone Day have won six straight at home, while Union Academy won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
