Recap: Mission Oak Hawks vs. Mt. Whitney Pioneers
The Mission Oak Hawks pushed their score all the way to 60 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Mt. Whitney. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mission Oak in their matchups with Mt. Whitney: they've now lost six in a row.
Mission Oak's loss came despite strong showings from Ricardo Reyes and Levi Jimenez. Reyes scored 17 points, while Jimenez scored 16 points. Xavier Munoz was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Mission Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mt. Whitney, their victory bumped their record up to 1-4.
Mission Oak is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Golden West at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Mt. Whitney, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Sierra Pacific at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. Sierra Pacific presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mt. Whitney in California (Sierra Pacific is ranked 385th, while Mt. Whitney is ranked 1139th).
