Baseball Recap: Harmon Comes Up Short

Harmon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 16-9 to the Highland Park Scots. Hawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Scots since Saturday.

Jaxson Ruiz stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Portillo Carrillo, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Harmon's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Highland Park, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Harmon will square off against rival Schlagle at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Highland Park is set to take on their familiar foe Sumner Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
