Soccer Game Preview: Freeman vs. Hempstead

The Freeman Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Hempstead Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hempstead took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Freeman, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Freeman beat Bellville 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Freeman.

Noel Pineda and Gabriel Colmenares scored all three of Freeman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Hempstead challenged Sealy on Friday. The Bobcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for Hempstead in their meetings with Sealy: they've now lost six in a row.

Hempstead now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Freeman, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.

Freeman got the 'W' when the teams last played back in January against Hempstead by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
