Softball Recap: Tates Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lincoln County on Thursday, Tates Creek came back down to earth. The Commodores fell just short of the Clinton County Bulldogs by a score of 10-8 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Commodores have suffered since March 11th.

Kacey Cline was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Sa'Niyah Joyce was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Tates Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Clinton County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Tates Creek will host Simon Kenton at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clinton County, they will square off against Lincoln County at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
