Softball Recap: Marian Catholic Wins Going Away Against Executive Education Academy Charter School

Marian Catholic was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Executive Education Academy Charter School on Saturday. Marian Catholic blew past Executive Education Academy Charter School 21-2. Marian Catholic has beaten Executive Education Academy Charter School the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Executive Education Academy Charter School has come to flipping the script.

Kayla Birrer spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hailey Treskolasky and Malina Letcher did most of the damage at the plate: Treskolasky got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Letcher went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave Treskolasky a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of DeAnna Pugh, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Marian Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Marian Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Executive Education Academy Charter School, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
