Basketball Recap: Newport Comes Up Short

Newport suffered their closest loss since December 5, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rogers Pirates by a score of 53-50.

Newport's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Rogers, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-5 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport will head out to square off against Kettle Falls at 4:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Rogers, they will head out on the road to take on Riverside at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
