Basketball Recap: Lake Gibson's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

There's no place like home for Lake Gibson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 58-54 win over the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Braves as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

It was another big night for A'Darrion Willis, who posted 25 points.

Despite the loss, New Smyrna Beach still got an impressive performance from Tyler Mcknight, who went 9 for 17 en route to 24 points. Mcknight's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Owen Mclaughlin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Lake Gibson's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for New Smyrna Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Lake Gibson has already played their next match, a 61-58 loss against Haines City on the 14th. As for New Smyrna Beach, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-70 defeat against Spruce Creek on the 16th.
