Baseball Recap: Boyle County Find Success

While Boyle County's win against Russell County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Boyle County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Russell County 5-3. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lakers on Saturday, too.

Landon Parnass tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Bodner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Boyle County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Rowe, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Boyle County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Russell County, they moved to 6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Boyle County will welcome Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Russell County, they will head out on the road to square off against Metcalfe County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
