NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Word of God Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) this week by beating Cary Christian, 38-18. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Rams.

Southampton Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 92 points on Hobgood Academy.

Arendell Parrott Academy's dynamic duo of Andrew Davenport and Nate Staskelunas proved tough for Northeast Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Davenport threw for 201 yards and five touchdowns and Staskelunas had 148 yards receiving. Chase Howard helped Arendell Parrott Academy's passing attack out by catching three balls for 53 yards.

G Mullins was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 334 yards as the Raiders beat the Eagles. Teammate J Marshall added to the ground attack by rushing for 155 yards.

Arendell Parrott Academy's Davenport and Staskelunas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading NCISAA Colonial Carolina (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Davenport has thrown for 650 yards this season, while Staskelunas, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 21 catches for 510 yards. Hobgood Academy's Mullins leads the league in rushing yards with 1417.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Raiders and Matt Beaman's team. Southampton Academy comes into the matchup ranked second in the state, while the Patriots ranks sixth.
