According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, 11 seniors, seven juniors, three sophomores and four freshmen comprise the Top 25 scorers in high school basketball as of Thursday.

Leading the bunch is a ninth-grader, 6-foot-1, 178-pound guard Markus Robinson from Finney (Penfield, N.Y.), who after 17 games is averaging a staggering 45.8 points per game. He's scored more than 50 points in eight games, including a high of 65.

We repeat, Robinson is just a freshman.

Tommy Murr, a 6-1 senior guard, is the only other player averaging more than 40 points per game at 44.3. His season came to an end last week but in 34 games this season for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy (Athens, Ala.), the Lipscomb signee went over 50 five times with a high of 60.

The other freshmen among the Top 25 are Vinnie Cugini of Aquinas Academy (Gibsonia, Pa.), a 6-foot guard averaging 34.2 per game, Asher Zubich, a 5-10 guard from Mountain Iron-Buhl (Mountain Iron, Minn.), averaging 31.7 and Mikey Williams, a 6-3 guard from San Ysidro (San Diego, Calif.) averaging 31.5.
