Basketball Recap: Darlington Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Darlington has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Lakewood Gators at home by a 50-33 margin on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gators apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Lakewood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 boards. Franklin has become a key player for Lakewood: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andre Mcbride, who posted ten points and five steals.

Darlington's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4. As for Lakewood, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Darlington and Timberland will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Lakewood, they will square off against River Bluff at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
