Softball Game Preview: Soledad Aztecs vs. Marina Mariners

The Soledad Aztecs will challenge the Marina Mariners at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Soledad has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Soledad's offense. They came up short against Pacific Grove on Thursday, falling 12-0. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Marina got the win against Seaside on Friday by a conclusive 15-3. The Mariners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Marina is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Soledad, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Everything went Soledad's way against Marina in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Soledad made off with a 20-7 win. Will the Aztecs repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
