Basketball Recap: Piedmont Academy Extends Home Winning Streak to 13

Piedmont Academy extended their home winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Marissa Holder. The Piedmont Academy Cougars walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers on Friday thanks in part to Holder, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last nine games she's played.

Piedmont Academy's record now sits at 9-3. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they moved to 11-1 with that defeat, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Piedmont Academy and Central Fellowship Christian Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Piedmont Academy (ranked 110th) will meet Augusta Prep Day (ranked 517th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Piedmont Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. Similarly, Central Fellowship Christian Academy (ranked 25th) will meet Hawkinsville (ranked 440th) at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
