Recap: Lakeland Lakers vs. Eastside Blazers

Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail eight more threes than your opponent, a fact the Lakeland Lakers proved on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-38 win over Eastside at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lakeland.

Lakeland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nate Keil out in front who scored 16 points. The match was Keil's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kyle Hartsough was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.

Eastside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clayton Minnick, who scored ten points along with six assists. Minnick scored a full 26.3% of Eastside's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Connor Abplanalp, who scored five points.

Lakeland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will take on Westview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westview is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Eastside, they will head out on the road to face off against Edon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
