Basketball Recap: Terry Takes a Loss

If Terry was riding high fresh off their 59-33 takedown of George County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 54-47 to the Forest Hill Patriots on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Terry lost, don't look at Maleah Young. Despite the final result, she shot 40% from the field to rack up 20 points and four steals. Young continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aykeyanna Kaaliyah Tanner, who posted six points along with 13 boards and three blocks.

Terry's record is now 5-7. As for Forest Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Terry will be home for the holidays to greet South Pike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Forest Hill will take on Madison Central in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' defense better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 56.8 points per game this season.
