Basketball Game Preview: East Jefferson Warriors vs. West Jefferson Buccaneers

The East Jefferson Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the West Jefferson Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Monday, East Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Bonnabel and fell 47-44. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, West Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of John Ehret.

East Jefferson will need focus on slowing down Keyana Butler, one of several West Jefferson players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 15 points.

East Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for West Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

East Jefferson came up short against West Jefferson when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 31-27. Can East Jefferson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
