Baseball Recap: Pearl Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Pearl's offense. They came up short against the Petal Panthers on Friday, falling 10-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 last Tuesday.

Pearl's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Petal, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pearl will head out to face off against Ridgeland at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Petal, they are taking a road trip to challenge Purvis at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tornadoes have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
