Basketball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road + How To Watch

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy had won six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-1 to make it seven. They came out on top against the Gilbert Christian Knights by a score of 55-48. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 65-64 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Frankie Lopez led the charge by dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Lopez a new career-high. Noah McKinney was another key player, putting up 16 points along with five boards and four steals.

As for Gilbert Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-0 Seton Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 93.8% over those games).

Gilbert Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trey Cicerelli, who posted 18 points. Cicerelli continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Burke, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points and five steals.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-54 defeat against Seton Catholic on the 8th. As for Gilbert Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Bourgade Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
