Preview: Cottondale Hornets vs. Chipley Tigers
Cottondale has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Chipley Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Cottondale was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethlehem, taking the game 49-36.
Cottondale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Reagan, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Nettles, who scored nine points along with two steals.
In what's become a running theme this season, Chipley gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Ponce De Leon at home to the tune of 70-41. The victory was familiar territory for Chipley who now have five in a row.
Cottondale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Chipley, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Cottondale skirted past Chipley 57-54 in their previous meeting on January 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cottondale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
