Baseball Recap: Circle Christian Takes a Loss

Circle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 12-5 to the Geneva Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in February.

Circle Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joel Alexander, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Alexander a new career-high. Jon Waldrop also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Circle Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Geneva, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Circle Christian will square off against Holy Cross Lutheran Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Holy Cross Lutheran Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.8 runs per game on average), something Circle Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Geneva, they will take on Trinity Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geneva's pitchers better be ready for this one: Trinity Prep has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
