Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Tecumseh's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Tecumseh's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jackson Vikings a 13-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Rocco Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Tecumseh: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-9-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, Logan Ware was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Austin Kane also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tecumseh is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Tecumseh will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair will be back at it again later today.
