Softball Recap: Winston County Comes Up Short

Winston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-2 to the Cold Springs Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Winston County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Neveah Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Winston County's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Cold Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Cold Springs will challenge Hale County at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Winston County will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' contest: after the Eagles face off against Hanceville, they'll take on Winston County again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
