League recap: Penn tops Adams to extend winning streak

Penn extended the longest winning streak in Northern Indiana this week by beating Adams, 30-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

St. Joseph took down Riley 38-9 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Elkhart Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Blazers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Faus has thrown for 2041 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, while Spencer Schnell has 69 catches for 1036 yards. Akheem Purnell leads the league in rushing with 680 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wildcats take on Washington. As it stands, Riley is in ninth, while the Panthers are in eighth.

Elkhart Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,885 from 4,214. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 31-21 victory over Clay last week.
