Soccer Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lakeside Christian back in December of 2024, Canterbury came back down to earth. The Canterbury Crusaders fell just short of the Sarasota Christian Blazers by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blazers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Canterbury now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Sarasota Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season.

Canterbury will be playing in front of their home fans against Admiral Farragut at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sarasota Christian, they will take on Bell Creek Academy in a tournament on Saturday. Bell Creek Academy is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Sarasota Christian will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
