Basketball Recap: Prospect Knights vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors
Prospect lost against Waubonsie Valley back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 70-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since January 29th.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Waubonsie Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danyella Mporokoso, who went 11-for-25 en route to 27 points and five boards. The contest was Mporokoso's ninth in a row with at least 22 points. Another player making a difference was Maya Pereda, who shot 75% from beyond the arc on her way to 22 points and seven rebounds.
Having lost for the first time this season, Prospect fell to 3-1. As for Waubonsie Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Coming up, Prospect will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Carmel at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Waubonsie Valley, they will square off against Batavia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
