Lyons is a perfect 10-0 against Proviso West since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lions will head out to square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Lyons' last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lyons is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Illinois' top teams: Hinsdale Central, who was ranked 24th at the time (Lyons was ranked fifth). The Lions narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Red Devils 1-0. Carolina Capizzi had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Lyons.

Meanwhile, Proviso West fell victim to Oak Park-River Forest and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Huskies.

Lyons pushed their record up to 10-2-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Proviso West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Lyons' way against Proviso West in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Lyons made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
