Cascade has gone a perfect 10-0 against Sweet Home recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will welcome the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Cascade is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 18 games.
Cascade's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against North Marion as they made off with an 18-0 victory. Considering the Cougars have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Taylor Bays was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dara Brackett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April. Pearl Pruett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Cascade was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sweet Home, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Philomath on Wednesday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Cascade's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Sweet Home, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.
