Volleyball Recap: Garner Starts off Right with Win over South Johnston

Garner had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against South Johnston as they made off with a 3-0 victory. For Garner, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win South Johnston walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-13.

Haley Heath was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garner will host Wake Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Johnston, they will square off against North Johnston at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
