Volleyball Recap: Topsail's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Topsail waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the New Hanover Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-6, 25-19.

Leading Topsail to victory were Hannah Gates and Audrey Johnson. Gates had nine digs and three aces, while Johnson had 12 digs and four assists. Gates is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Topsail was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive contests.

Topsail's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for New Hanover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Topsail nor New Hanover have any future games scheduled.
