South Mecklenburg needed a changed in momentum after dropping seven straight games and they got it from Phoenix Modie. The Sabres were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over West Mecklenburg on Tuesday with plenty of help from Modie, who had 20 kills, six aces, four blocks, and three digs. He has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 15 times he's played.
The final score came out to 25-9, 25-21, 25-8.
Butler not only won two weeks ago, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th (when they won 3-0). They blew past Berry 3-0. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
While Butler won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-0, 25-0.
South Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
