Cheyenne put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Canyon Springs Pioneers as Cheyenne made off with a 9-3 victory. The Desert Shields have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pioneers, too.

Raider Campos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Steiner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Esai Esparza, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Cheyenne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Cheyenne pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Canyon Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Cheyenne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Del Sol on the 18th. As for Canyon Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-3 victory against Pinecrest Academy Cadence on the 18th.
