Recap: Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES vs. Faith Christian Warriors
The Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES entered their tilt with the Faith Christian Warriors with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Roanoke Valley Christian managed a 48-43 win over Faith Christian on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Roanoke Valley Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Roanoke Valley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremy Chou out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Chou is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Phillips, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Faith Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Ridge, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ridge hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Burton, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds.
Roanoke Valley Christian pushed their record up to 9-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Faith Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roanoke Valley Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dayspring Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 13th. Dayspring Christian Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Faith Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Boys' Home at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
