Baseball Game Preview: Community School of Davidson Spartans vs. Forbush Falcons

Community School of Davidson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Maiden get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Forbush entered their tilt with Reidsville on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Rams.

The result came thanks to Hunter Conrad's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Forbush's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Westin Vestal, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Hunter Wolfe also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Forbush's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Community School of Davidson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
