Basketball Recap: STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans vs. Loveland Classical Lions
STEM School Highlands Ranch lost against Loveland Classical back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans took a blow against the Loveland Classical Lions, falling 78-37. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Lions are ranked 109th).
STEM School Highlands Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaden Morrison, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Vedant Margale, who earned seven points.
Loveland Classical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Jensen out in front who went 8-for-11 en route to 17 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Kole Doan was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for STEM School Highlands Ranch and nudges their season record down to 13-10. As for Loveland Classical, their victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3.
STEM School Highlands Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loveland Classical, they will square off against Merino at 6:15 p.m. on March 7th. Loveland Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
