Softball Game Preview: Foothill Knights vs. Harvard-Westlake Wolverines

The Foothill Knights will square off against the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Foothill's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Harvard-Westlake has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Foothill is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Sierra Canyon 3-2.

Capri Gallego spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Rodriguez Haley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaela Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Foothill hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Harvard-Westlake was able to grind out a solid victory over Oak Hills on Thursday, taking the game 8-5.

Foothill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Harvard-Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.
