Basketball Recap: Manistique Takes a Loss

Manistique lost against Gladstone two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Manistique Emeralds were dealt a 72-28 defeat at the hands of the Gladstone Braves. The Emeralds' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Lillie Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gladstone, going 13 of 26 en route to 34 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Gladstone's points. Addy Blowers was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Manistique's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Gladstone, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Manistique has already played their next contest, a 47-21 loss against Gwinn on the 27th. As for Gladstone, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-28 defeat against Negaunee on the 28th.
