Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Thomas Jefferson dropped down to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a hard 35-19 fall against the Montbello Warriors. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Nick Radi threw for 134 yards and one touchdown. Marcus Spearman was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Zay Rogers rushed for 128 yards and a pair of scores.

As for Montbello, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.7 points over those games.

Amari Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 236 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 31 receiving yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 67 yards. Zyaire Custis did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.

Thomas Jefferson and Montbello are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Spartans will challenge Riverdale Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens' defense has only allowed 7.1 points per game this season, so Thomas Jefferson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Montbello, they will take on Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
