Baseball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Harvest Christian Academy entered their tilt with Yorkville Christian on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Mustangs. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Kyle Ziebell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Harvest Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cael Blaudow, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Harvest Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Yorkville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvest Christian Academy will host Alden-Hebron at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Giants have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Yorkville Christian, they will challenge Lisle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
