Recap: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. Potomac School Panthers
The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers are ranked highly in their home state, and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Potomac School Panthers. Georgetown Day took a 71-56 bruising from Potomac School. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Loss or not, Georgetown Day got some senior leadership from Tobias Viorst and Abe Badji. Viorst scored 17 points along with four steals, while Badji. dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Viorst has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Khalin Patel, who scored seven points.
Georgetown Day has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Potomac School, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Georgetown Day will stay at home for another game and welcome Flint Hill at 5:45 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Flint Hill is ranked sixth in Virginia, while Georgetown Day is ranked 18th in District of Columbia). As for Potomac School, they will be playing at home against St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
