Softball Game Preview: Lutheran West Longhorns vs. Oberlin Phoenix

The Lutheran West Longhorns will take on the Oberlin Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran West has given up an average of 20.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lutheran West had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Wickliffe put an end to it on Saturday. Lutheran West came up short against Wickliffe, falling 27-0.

Meanwhile, Oberlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Open Door Christian.

Lutheran West's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Oberlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Lutheran West's way against Oberlin in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Lutheran West made off with a 16-6 win. Will Lutheran West repeat their success, or does Oberlin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
