Killian has gone 8-2 against Varela recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Killian Cougars will take on the Varela Vipers at 7:30 p.m. Killian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Killian duked it out withMater Academy Charter on Thursday. Killian was outmatched by Mater Academy Charter and fell 73-44. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Lions are ranked 300th).

Despite the defeat, Killian got top-tier performance from Christian Torres, who posted 25 points and five boards. That was a full 56.8% of Killian's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Derico Taylor was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Varela came up short against Braddock on Friday and fell 61-50. The loss continues a trend for the Vipers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Varela's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Killian, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Killian might still be hurting after the 66-41 defeat they got from Varela in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Killian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
