Softball Recap: Buckeye Trail Takes a Loss

Buckeye Trail was the 6-2 winner over St. Clairsville when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 6-5 on Saturday.

Buckeye Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for St. Clairsville, with the victory, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-15.

Buckeye Trail and St. Clairsville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Warriors (ranked 536th) will meet Strasburg-Franklin (ranked 184th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Clairsville will square off against Madonna at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (622 vs. 26). The timing isn't great for the Red Devils: they have been struggling with 18 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while the Blue Dons have snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
